Amy Bain

is a gifted coordinator and founder of the STEM Center in Bethel, Ohio. As a National Board Certified teacher and the 2002 Ohio finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, she has authored books on science instruction and virtual learning and presented at local, state, and national conferences.

Belinda taught Chemistry and Physics for 23 years before joining the Ohio Department of education. During her five years at ODE, she wrote the Content Elaborations for the physical science strand of the Model Curriculum and served as content lead for Ohio’s new online assessments.

Dr. Gabriel Matney

has been a Bowling Green State University mathematics education professor since August 2011. He has led or co‐led nine grant‐funded mathematics professional development programs for K‐12 general and special education teachers in Ohio. He can often be found working alongside his K‐12 teaching colleagues offering expertise in the design of productive mathematics classrooms that help students achieve a higher level of mathematical proficiency.

Dr. Jonathan Bostic

has been a Bowling Green State University mathematics education professor since August 2011. He has led or co‐led eight grant‐funded mathematics professional development programs for K‐12 general and special education teachers in Ohio. He enjoys working alongside teachers and districts to foster students’ problem solving and use of multiple representations to solve complex tasks. Jonathan was a middle and high school mathematics teacher in Virginia before joining academia.

is a science curriculum specialist for Curriculum Engineers and a nationally Board Certified science teacher. She was former co‐primary investigator for Southwest Ohio Science Institute (SOSI grades 3‐6) and co‐author of Centering Around the Science Standards 6‐8. She serves as a science coach and mentor for several Ohio schools.

Nancy Wisker

is a former elementary and middle school teacher who most recently served as the Director of Math and Science at the Dinah Zike Academy. Currently specializing in interactive notebooking and the use of Foldables in the classroom. In 2008 she was named Distinguished Classroom Educator for Middle TN. Nancy is the co‐author of 9 titles in Dinah Zike’s popular Notebooking Central series. She has presented on the use of Foldables and interactive notebooks nationally and internationally.

Patricia Grove

As a social studies teacher in the Forest Hills School District, Patricia Grove has won several education awards including Ohio Middle Level Educator of the Year, the Hamilton County Celebrating Excellence Award and was a finalist for the Ohio American Legion Social Studies Teacher. After 35 years of teaching Social Studies in grades 4‐12, Pat retired as a teacher and is now a curriculum consultant.

Sandy Adams

has a Master’s degree in Curriculum Design and Development, 14 years of experience teaching high school, and over a decade of undergraduate instruction with Wright State University. She has spent the last 3 years delivering professional development designed to increase rigor and critical thinking. Sandy has held a position with 16 Ohio’s Race to the Top project for the last 6 years and has helped the Indiana DOE implement their 6 Shifts in Literacy project. Her approach to professional learning is centered around research‐based principles and maximizing student potential by carving out more opportunities for strategic thinking and engagement within instruction.
